Many
Men are Warriors at Heart Asking…
-Do I have what it takes? -Am I a true warrior
at heart?
-Am I a force to be reckoned with???
-Why does a part of me remain untamed?
-Why does my soul refuse to be harnessed?
-Why do I still seek freedom, passion, and adventure?
-Why am I wild at heart? Was I created this way?
-Do I still have the passion and zeal? Where is my heart?
-Am I becoming a man without a chest? Where is Truth?
-Why does aggression continue to stir deep inside of me?
-What is wrong with church and why am I so bored there?
-Why do I seek powerful/dangerous/focused situations?
-Some men abuse, but do we all have to now be feminized?

Read Wild at Heart by John
Eldredge
“Like it or not, there is something fierce in
the heart of every man.” Messages to men
ultimately fail because they ignore what is deep
and true to a man’s heart. “I am looking for my
heart.” “Deep in a man’s heart are some
fundamental questions that simply cannot be
answered at the kitchen table. Who am I? What am
I made of? What am I destined for?” ”Where are
all the real men?” “The soul longs for life, for
passion, for freedom.” Christian men are
“dutiful” and “bored”. What makes us come alive?
In the heart of every man is a desperate desire
for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and
a beauty to rescue… “We need permission.
Permission to be what we are—men made in God’s
image.” Read this book and know that soldiers
are needed for families and the Truth of the
Gospel. |
Surprised
What we found with men in
AlumniFootballUSA
surprised us. 1) The need for men to get back in
a violent game they loved. 2) The seriousness of
the games. 3. The willingness to pray together
with those they treated as enemies just moments
earlier wanting to knock them down and “rip
their faces off”. Few have the time or skills to
play pro ball or even semi-pro, but they long to
Get-Back-in-the-Game with the thrill of the hit
and the “danger” of being hit one-more-time.
Football and other aggressive sports have that
certain level of aggressive intensity and focus
coupled with that amazing choreography of
teamwork, the teamwork required when marching
onto a serious battlefield, a battle- ground
with a live crowd watching and waiting...

Prayer on the Battlefield, but Not Church?
-The openness of men to pray on the battle field
is beautiful, but why do so many of them avoid
church. The spiritual battles are great and
warriors are needed especially with the false
gospel that is being preached by so many big
time preachers today. God’s Word is not overly
feminine, but the preaching in many churches is
often quite feminine. I asked a very intelligent
& tough Marine friend why he does not like
church and he said they all preach the same
thing: 1.
Be nice, docile, & non-confrontational… 2. Give
the right amount. 3. Volunteer your time, but if
too busy then give the right amount.
So many churches today water down the
battle and seek
friendship with the world which is hostility
toward God… James 4:4
God alone is our refuge and strength, a very
present help in times of trouble. Ps 46 He is
our RRR (Rock, Refuge, and Redeemer)! |
“Man World” is a “Weird Place”
-Do Pastors and the church understand this “Man
World”, the Warrior, the Animal, the caged beast
in the clutch of death (war) and afterwards
kindness and wisdom! Am I molded by God merely
to be a nice guy? To be able to release anxiety
& fears is wonderful; to do it in the midst of
battle (competition) is true adventure... In
aggressive full contact sports men get to play
the edge of intense focus & insanity like never
before while teammates, coaches, and the men in
stripes keep them from going over the edge… No
apology for being aggressive, intense, or
violent. No need to apologize for being men. In
these games men/boys get to experience barbaric
aggression that would normally land them a few
nights in jail… Check

God, a Warrior, Created the War Horse!
The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his
name. Ex. 15:3 God created the
hurricane, the war horse, & he created
you too! "Do
you give the horse his might?
Do you
clothe his neck with a mane? Do
you make him leap
like the locust? His majestic snorting
is terrible. He paws in the valley, and
rejoices in his strength; he goes
out to meet the weapons. He
laughs at fear and is not dismayed;
and he
does not turn back from the sword. The
quiver rattles against him, the flashing spear and
javelin. With
shaking and rage he races over the ground,
and he
does not stand still at the voice of the
trumpet. As often as the trumpet
sounds he says, 'Aha!' and he scents the battle from afar,
and the
thunder of the captains and the war cry. ”
Job 39:19 Being a true warrior involves
protecting the vulnerable while
understanding duty, honor, courage,
wisdom, and loyalty. |

Yes, the Church needs Godly Warriors...
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7 "If you have run with footmen and
they have tired you out, then how can you
compete with horses? If you fall down in a land
of peace, how will you do in the... (thicket of
battle)? Jeremiah 12:5 If you falter in times
of trouble, how small is your strength! Proverbs
24:10 All hard work brings a profit, but mere
talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 Our
Battle is not against flesh and blood... Eph
6:12 “speak the word of God without fear”,
“defend & confirm the Gospel”, “boldness”,
“standing firm”. Philippians 1 “prepare your
minds for action” & “do not fear their
intimidation”. 1 Peter 1 & 3 Much more in
scripture. Godly Warriors bring the Gospel to a
needy/dying world.

Find a Church that Preaches the Bible
and march to battle with them. Find a
church fiercely devoted to loving God &
His people. “Consider therefore the
kindness and sternness of God…” Romans
11:22 “Then the LORD spoke to Job out of
the storm: Brace yourself like a man; I
will question you, and you shall answer
me.” Job 40 "Can you pull in leviathan
with a fishhook? If you lay a hand on
him, you will remember the struggle and
never do it again! Any hope of subduing
him is false; the mere sight of him is
overpowering. When he rises up, the
mighty are terrified; they retreat
before his thrashing. Nothing on earth
is his equal— a creature without fear.”
Job 41 “Be on the alert,
stand firm
in the faith, act
like men, be
strong.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 There is a balance
between strength and humility;
responsibility and love.

You Either Live for God or Yourself
-Win or Lose. No one measures up to
God’s goodness, perfection, or Burning
Holiness.
-Jesus came out of Eternal Richness to
Become Poor so that through His Poverty
we might be made Rich! (2 Cor 8:9,
Eternal Richness).
-We must
elevate our view of God in a world where
He is ridiculed and even worse, ignored.
-A low view of
God makes life, Jesus, God, the Bible,
and the Gospel meaningless. -Dare
to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone,
Dare to have a purpose firm, Dare to
make it known! (Spiritual Hymn) -Though
all the problems in heaven and earth
were to confront us altogether and all
at once, it would be nothing compared to
the problem of God, Who He Is, and what
we are to do about Him.

Knowledge of the Holy) |

Christian Warriors Honoring God
How do we honor God in the midst of a
secular pagan culture that worships
everything but the one true God? We must
expose and refute lies that are taught
to adults and their children.
Lies:
“You must be concerned about your
legacy.” “You do not have to fear God.”
“Everything is relative” (and therefore
not meaningful). “You evolved through a
random chance process and therefore have
no real meaning or purpose.” “Science
has shown that God does not exist.”
“Good and Evil do not exist.” “Right &
Wrong do not exist.” “There are many
ways to God.”
Truths:
“In the beginning God Created...” “Jesus
is the Way, Truth & Life.” “From
nothing—nothing comes.” “Life only comes
from life.” “Consciousness only comes
from Consciousness.” No primordial soup! |

Loving and Teaching our Children?
I know many “good” men that lovingly
train their children to be good athletes
& students yet totally neglect that
which is real. They give absolutely zero
spiritual training. That which is real
is that which is eternal and not short
lived. Ask them or their children the
simplest spiritual questions and they
have no clue. It is one of the saddest
things I have ever witnessed. We are
told to tell our children daily that
which is most important: “to Love God
with all your heart, soul, mind, &
strength”. What is one of the most
important things about a man or woman?
It may be what they think when they
think about God or what they do not
think... There are no words that
describe God and no thoughts that
contain Him. HE IS! HE IS BIG!

Deny yourself, pick up your Cross, and follow Jesus.
Many Christians are so sorry that much
of organized religion is preaching a
false message.
Warriors are desperately needed to stand
in the gap and protect the Truth. We
need warriors that desire to be fiercely
devoted!
Fiercely Devoted to God’s Truth!
Fiercely Devoted to Righteousness!
Fiercely Devoted to God! Fiercely
devoted to God’s Word, the Bible, and
NOT Fiercely Devoted to what we find
in some churches today!
There is no greater fight than
the fight to be right with God, to bow a
knee to His will, and to love your
brethren. Some stand for truth while
others settle for compromise.
The cross is a brutal and powerful
statement of God’s tremendous love in
the midst of sinful/selfish people. Bow
your knee to Jesus then raise His sword
(The Bible)!
(1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given) |

Running the Race to Win:
Great teams produce athletes that are
conditioned, respected, powerful, &
“dangerous”; a force to be reckoned
with... They should also teach kindness,
manners, wisdom, knowledge, discernment,
and understanding. Young men have a need
to be fierce and fiercely devoted. Too
many young men today are bored and
non-productive. What is truly admired in
a man is his kindness and every
true warrior knows when to be kind and
loving, especially with family. A true
warrior knows what to leave on the
battlefield and what to bring home. The
Spiritual truths we learn are ultimately
the REAL TRUTHS we take into eternity. A
true warrior knows there is a time and
place for every event under the sun.
Every real warrior willingly bows to the
righteous King in quiet humility. Our
Righteous King is Jesus, Son of Man &
Son of God. As the President of
AlumniFootballUSA always says, “Glory
to God”!!!
